Sel,

Was just speaking to Paddlepop. He & I will now be driving down to Maroon on the Friday morning. Plan to get there late morning, set-up and hit the water for a session after a bite of lunch.

From the previous posts I've read, most of the others plan to arrive late arvo or in the evening.

So if Paddelpop and I aren't at the camp area we'll be out on the water when others arrive.

Pete

I'm trying to get the day off, if I can I'll be there friday sometime too, otherwise I will be up there Friday night Crying or Very sad

If we could all remember to take a little stash of fire wood please.

Pack some warm clothes too, it will be very cool up there at night and in the mornings.

Cheers

Excellent! Look forward seeing a few of you for a Friday arvo fish.

Anyone interested in sharing a tent for the week end? Only ask as my car has limited space and once the kayak and fishing gear is load not much room left for camping gear.

Also at previous fishing trips away most seem to have large tents. All I have is a small one man tent. I can bring my own mattress and sleeping bag. Only too happy to help construct the tent etc.

Cheers, Pete

Hi Pete,

most of us have the little 2-man dome tents from BCF or the like. I've got a spare if it helps at all?

No worries, Gra. Just saw everyone using huge dome tents at the Hobie B*filtered* Bash in November, which seemed a bit of over-kill for one person.
I'll bring my one-man tent. No biggie. Pete

Pete

You’d have to be one brave fella to get in an enclosed nylon space with some of the usual suspects.

Apart from the world cl*filtered* snorers (I’m leading the way) there seems to be propensity on these camps during the wee small hours to try and convert tents into high altitude hot air balloons. This is normally achieved by the consumption of at least one; foot long, German style, heavily spiced and season, lard infused wad of animal scrapings disguised as a sausage, followed by several dozen beers and an *filtered*ortment of other flatulence producing goodies. Once the hops and barley begin to emulsify with lips and arseholes from that aforementioned Bavarian pig, the result is a chorus of meaty trumpets followed by a septic miasma that could quite possibly dissolve your average 2 man fart enclosure or at least lift off the ground several feet.

Good luck, but I would suggest that you drop by the army disposal store on the way up and grab one of the WW1 Mustard gas masks so we don’t have to conduct a burial at sea (or Dam) during the weekend.

Fair point you make there, Paul.

I better add the ear plugs to the camping check list as well.

Perhaps we should envoke a `No *filtered* flames` policy

Now that's going to be perplexing for me. I'd rather be up-wind of them, for obvious reasons. But if I smoke I may unknowingly spark an inferno. Better spray the tents with extra fire retardant and also bring the fire extinguisher as well.
